Destanee Arlene Little, 19, was killed and two other people sustained serious injuries in a traffic collision near Lodi, California on June 12, 2010. The injured people in this car crash have been identified as David Heredia, 20 and Chaunnel Renberg, 20.
According to the Lodi News Sentinel article, Little was driving his Oldsmobile Cutlass south on West Lane near Armstrong Road. At that point, a 2008 Honda Accord driver, Benjamin Serratos III, 29, hit the back of Little’s vehicle. Little’s car went out of control and banged into a nearby traffic light.
Little sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead later at a local hospital. Renberg also sustained fractured ribs and abrasions. Serratos fled from the traffic accident scene but was later arrested on suspicion of driving under influence and for causing serious bodily injury.
We offer our condolences to Little’s family and friends for such a tragic loss. We hope and pray that Renberg recovers from his injuries soon and completely.Little’s family may be entitled for compensation to cover the cost of funeral, loss of earning, loss of love and companionship and other related damages. Serratos not only violated California Vehicle Code Section 20001, referring to the hit-and-run accident along causing serious injury, but also committed the felony act of driving under the influence of alcohol in violation of California Vehicle Code Section 23152(a).
