Malinda Michaelis Watson, 59, was killed in a fatal San Bernardino County car accident that occurred on November 23, 2010, in the High Desert east of Barstow in San Bernardino County, approximately 96 miles from San Diego. According to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office, Watson’s Chrysler minivan was traveling west on Interstate 40 just east of Downtown Barstow when it drifted onto the right shoulder and then rolled down an embankment.
California Highway Patrol officers and paramedics on their arrival at the accident scene found the van in an upside down position. Watson was pronounced dead at the auto accident scene by the paramedics. California Highway Patrol is trying to determine the exact cause of this fatal car accident that took one life.
If it is found that Watson lost control of her minivan due to an automobile failure, a mechanical failure, or any design issues then the victim’s family may be eligible to obtain compensation from the manufacturer of her minivan. The manufacturer might then be held liable for Watson’s wrongful death and pay damages for the cost of Watson’sfuneral and burial, loss of anticipated earnings of the deceased, loss of love and compassion, and other accident related damages.
Watson’s family members should consult with an aggressive San Bernardino County auto accident lawyer to learn about their rights and obtain the compensation they deserve.
