A California Highway Patrol pilot lost his life when his Cessna plane crashed in a field near Ocotillo Wells in San Diego County on Friday, May 7, 2010, about 24 miles southeast of Borrego Springs. The officer, Officer Danny Benavides, was found dead in the wreckage. Officer Benavides, of Indio, was flying from Brawley to Interstate 8 (I-8) to provide speed control monitoring when the crash occurred.
Alfredo Sanchez, a 29-year-old Escondido man, was run over by a 2010 Toyota Corolla on April 18, 2010. The pedestrian accident happened around 4:15 a.m. on the I-5 Freeway near Harbor Drive in Oceanside. The driver of the Corolla said he saw something on the road but by the time he realized it was a person he was not able to change lanes and ran over the Sanchez’s head.

A rollover car crash resulted in the death of a 35-year old woman while she was driving on Highway 99 in Sacramento County. The fatal auto crash happened around 12:15 p.m.
The driver of a tan sedan that caused a fatal Riverside auto accident near the Riverside National Cemetery on March 18, 2010 is being sought by the police. The car accident resulted in the death of another driver, 30-year old Perris resident, Andre Lucy.
A 32-year old Lodi man lost his life in a Riverside County ATV accident that happened on March 28, 2010 at 2:50 p.m.
The deceased was with his daughter, motorcycling at the Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area when suddenly an ATV tumbled down the hill and hit him. He died on the spot. The California Highway Patrol reported that a 16-year old boy was riding the ATV in question and had gotten down from it to help another rider when suddenly the ATV rolled down the hill and caused the fatal accident. The deceased man’s daughter remained uninjured.
