Malinda Michaelis Watson, 59, was killed in a fatal San Bernardino County car accident that occurred on November 23, 2010, in the High Desert east of Barstow in San Bernardino County, approximately 96 miles from San Diego. According to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office, Watson’s Chrysler minivan was traveling west on Interstate 40 just east of Downtown Barstow when it drifted onto the right shoulder and then rolled down an embankment.

Alfredo Sanchez, a 29-year-old Escondido man, was run over by a 2010 Toyota Corolla on April 18, 2010. The pedestrian accident happened around 4:15 a.m. on the I-5 Freeway near Harbor Drive in Oceanside. The driver of the Corolla said he saw something on the road but by the time he realized it was a person he was not able to change lanes and ran over the Sanchez’s head.
